Nebraska Rodeo Queen

(Words and music by Jeff Hickenlooper)

It was a dusty day in Nebraska
But the sun was shining bright
My sister-in-law didn't know it yet
gonna be the time of her life

She was one of the last two
one of the last three
the announcement was made
and that began the jubiloo ;)

They rode her out on six white horses
Pretty as she could be
My siter-in-law was crowned

Nebraska Rodeo Queen

All that summer
she followed the rodeo from town to town
She had a forbidden love with the rodeo,
the rodeo clown.

She ended up in Cali
where she met a marine

He was strong, he was handsome,
and he looked real good in green...

From Nebraska to California
now they were Ohio bound
to celebrate their new life
in a river town

Now he's a lawyer, she's a teacher
and those rodeo days are all but gone
they have two beautiful daughters
and one beautiful son.

One day from Ohio
those kids were Nebraska bound
the girls with dreams of being the queen
and the son the rodeo clown

They rode then out on six white horses
Pretty as they could be
My siter-in-law

Nebraska Rodeo Queen...
